Elbow Arthroscopy OK Procedure

Elbow Arthroscopy OK Procedure

The operation is used to alleviate pain, eliminate locking, and increase elbow joint mobility. We do this operation as an arthroscopic procedure, despite the fact that it was originally conceived as an open procedure (keyhole surgery).

Surgical Procedure

The surgery takes roughly 15-30 minutes and is performed as a day case procedure under local or general anaesthesia.

Through many small 2-3 mm incisions, an arthroscope (small 'telescope') is inserted into the elbow joint. The arthroscope is utilised to position the patient, and gripping and deburring tools are used to open up the distal humeral fenestration. A bulky dressing is used after the skin is sutured or secured with steristrips.

Keep the wound dry until the stitches are out at 10 days.
